Summer can slip by in a blink, can’t it? That’s why The Rainbow is slowing things down for June’s MAKE.
Join us for an evening of whimsical liquid watercolor art—where the focus is on calm, play, and letting the magic of the materials guide you. We’ll explore fun secret ingredients and add touches of mixed media to create dreamy, layered pieces on watercolor paper.
You’ll have the option to take home finished artwork or—if releasing pressure sounds sweeter—cut your pieces into charming mini cards or gift notes. They’ll be perfect for reconnecting with someone you might not see much this summer. We’ll even have envelopes ready to go, so you can skip the at-home follow-up and send a little handmade love right from the studio.
These pressure-free creations are ideal hand-busying companions while you chat and connect with fellow makers.
As always, all supplies, snacks, and drinks are included. Just bring your curiosity and your summer self.
Cost: $45

Details: This experience begins at 6pm. Feel free to park in the North Park Garage located at 3829 29th St. The hourly cost is reasonable.
MAKE is a monthly series hosted by Mara Altman and Nicole Zappala where we gather to connect and create over accessible, funky crafts. Experiences are guided by our hosts or in some cases, we invite artists and makers in to guide us. Check out some of the MAKEs we’ve done on Instagram.
A Note About Our New Ticketing
Thanks to the Vacancy to Vibrancy model that makes The Rainbow possible, we’re committed to keeping our experiences affordable for participants while honoring the value of visiting artists.
In our previous space—where experience was the art—we handled all ticketing through our own website. With our last move and a shift toward balancing immersive experiences and art on canvas, we simplified the site and transitioned to Eventbrite.
But… Eventbrite’s fees and clunky user experience just aren’t cutting it anymore. So—we’re bringing ticketing back in-house.
That means: no more fees, a smoother process, and more energy going where it belongs—into the art. But it also means if you click the here button above, it will take you to Nicole’s personal art website. So when you see that site hop, that’s why. Thanks all!
